IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
It is with a touch of sadness that I address you today, as I announce our upcoming closure after 43 exciting years, during which we have had the privilege of educating over 40,000 dedicated students. We will definitely close our doors as of December 31, 2026.
Times have changed, and we have observed a shift in interest towards different types of courses—those that prioritize political correctness, quick solutions, and entertainment over the science and critical thinking we hold dear. We have always prided ourselves on delivering high-quality education, providing students with the most up-to-date knowledge, and allowing you to apply it according to your own beliefs. We have never compromised on our high standards, and we refuse to do so now or in the future. In light of these shifts, and with my retirement, our search for a scientific director to uphold our ideology and our high standards has not been successful. Therefore, we have taken the heartfelt decision to close our doors on a high note rather than compromise the quality for which we have strived.
Although this decision is indeed sad, let us focus on the invaluable experiences and knowledge we have gained and shared during our journey into the fascinating world of animal behavior and innovative training methods.
Current Students—Please READ THIS Â
We want you to complete your studies, earn your diplomas, and be highly competent in your area of work. Therefore, for our current students, there will be no negative changes; in fact, you now have 16 months (as of today) to complete your programs and earn your diplomas. You will receive even more value for your enrollment fee, including extra live online video classes supporting most courses, as well as live online practical lessons to assist you in passing your proficiency verifications. Please be sure to stay connected with us through our website, Facebook group, and the official Ethology Institute Facebook page for timely announcements about these live online sessions.
I will personally deliver the live online theoretical lessons, including canine behavior, ethology, animal learning, etc. Tilde Detz Jensen (ABT, CPDT, CACE, CAAE) and Jessica Pacheco (CPDT, CACE) will lead the practical classes, providing one-on-one assistance to help you succeed in your proficiency verifications.
Prospective Students
Even as we approach our closure, there’s still time for you to enroll and earn your certification as a CPDT (Certified Professional Dog Trainer) or CACE (Certified in Applied Canine Ethology). I encourage you to enroll as soon as possible, as the practical proficiency verifications require time to master.
Thank You All
My heartfelt gratitude goes to each and every one of you for having been an integral part of this incredible journey over the past 43 years. Together, we have accomplished so much more than we ever dreamt possible when we first began. As we embark on the final months of this chapter, let’s hold onto one another and cherish the learning and discoveries still ahead. Your support and dedication have shaped our legacy, and I am thankful to have lived this adventure with you all.
